The competition will take place across multiple platforms, ranging from television to digital platforms and social media.

As a sponsor of the competition, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong, Director of the National Data Center under the Ministry of Public Security, stated that in recent times, the Party and the State have introduced numerous policies and actions, demonstrating a strong determination to make Vietnam a hub for innovation in the region and the world through the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

Therefore, this competition is highly practical and contributes to the realization of the Party and State’s major strategies for science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, especially in the field of AI.

The competition represents concrete action to bring resolutions into everyday life, with the goal of placing “citizens and businesses at the center—as subjects, resources, and primary driving forces”—while also affirming the State’s role in “leading and promoting” by creating the most favorable conditions for technological development.

It is also a strong response to the "National Digital Literacy Campaign" initiated by the General Secretary, which aims to popularize digital knowledge and skills among all citizens to "build a society that is not only rich in knowledge but also strong in technology."

“The competition not only promotes creativity and marks a new digital literacy era, but also serves as an intellectual playground—a nurturing ground for young people, scientists, and tech experts to showcase their talents. It is also a platform to identify and cultivate talent, contributing to the development of a high-quality AI workforce,” said Nguyen Ngoc Cuong.

The “Hands-on AI” competition will consist of four main rounds: a launch and preliminary round (online), a skills challenge round, a semi-final (focused on practical solutions), and the final gala round (AI in Action Gala).

The Grand Finale Gala is scheduled to take place in January 2026, where the top three teams will compete live in an event broadcast on Vietnam Television.

According to the organizers, the total prize pool for the competition is nearly 2 billion VND. The most outstanding teams will also have the opportunity to participate in a professional startup incubation program after the competition.
